Data Modeler Consultant
The Data Modeler Consultant position is responsible for establishing the enterprise data architecture, building and integrating enterprise data models, and developing the linkages (traceability) to the enterprise data models for application specific operational and analytical data models; being involved in all aspects of Information Governance and Stewardship, information management, and application architecture; functioning as a central resource for data modeling, including data rationalization, data element standards, and collaboration with information stewards, data analysts, and stewardship facilitators to collect, understand, model, document, and communicate the data requirements necessary to perform business processes.
Data Modeler Consultant (for Contractor):
This position is responsible for establishing the enterprise data architecture, building and integrating enterprise data models, and developing the linkages (traceability) to the enterprise data models for application specific operational and analytical data models; being involved in all aspects of Information Governance and Stewardship, information management, and application architecture; functioning as a central resource for data modeling, including data rationalization, data element standards, and collaboration with information stewards, data analysts, and stewardship facilitators to collect, understand, model, document, and communicate the data requirements necessary to perform business processes.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor Degree and at least 5 years professional technology experience.
3 years experience in the development of entity-relationship diagrams using Erwin data modeling tool.
2-3 Years business experience in health care, life, P&C insurance, health care, or finance.
Knowledge of applications using Pivotal Systems and/or GEMfire.
Knowledge of system development lifecycle methodologies.
Experience developing and implementing large-scale conceptual, relational, and dimensional data models and meta models within an enterprise data architecture framework.
Experience developing data models for operational, transactional, reporting, business intelligence, and data integration applications, including the development of or interfacing with data analysis, data mapping, and data rationalization artifacts.
Experienced developing and enforcing data modeling standards and procedures.
Knowledge of web technologies, application programming languages, OLTP/OLAP technologies, data strategy disciplines, relational databases, and data warehouse development.
Clear and concise verbal and written communication to all levels of the organization.
Understanding to link business strategy to technology solutions.
Discern business requirements, prioritize issues, and drive projects forward in complex situations.
PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or Management Information Systems.
Knowledge of business process development within health, life, or P&C insurance, or health care.
Knowledge of enterprise meta data management and data model development and usage.
Experience with issue identification and resolution activities for Data Integration, Meta Data, and Data Modeling, Business Intelligence (Data Warehouse, Reporting and Analytics, Informatics).
